| Our
most popular ProMotion wheel is a great all round
performer. At 1500 grams it is as light as most wheels
out there. With its semi high profile welded rims
it is aerodynamic, comfortable and rugged. The welded
rim is really an important detail. Of course, we
also machine the sidewall to produce a superior braking
surface. Call us old-fashioned; we even use all brass
nipples in our wheel building. This produces a wheel
build that is far more durable and reliable. We
have chosen to use a typical style J spoke for our
wheel setup. In a pinch you can use a readily available
double-butted spoke until we can get you a replacement
spoke. Anyone who has had to replace a spoke during
a race will let you know very quickly how troublesome
the exotic spokes are in everyday use. Just try and
find a spoke wrench that works on those Aluminum
spokes. The wheels however are very strong and very
light. Our spokes are twin forged double-butted aero
spokes that fit through regular spoke holes. We do
not know of a stainless spoke out there that is lighter
or stronger. Our wheels are all hand built, hand
tensioned and hand tuned. This wheel has a suggested
retail price of $499.

Reasons Why:
We use standard
J spokes because they can be replaced anywhere. Also
cost of hubs is much less when standard spoke setups
are employed. Standard flanges have also the longest
track records. When a spoke breaks with this setup
a standard straight-gauged spoke can be used until
we can get you a replacement spoke. We also avoid
twinned spokes, no noodle like composite materials
or quirky double-threaded spokes. No special training
required to replace spokes or to true a wheel. We
use brass nipples because they make stronger wheels
and avoid the spontaneous aluminum weld that can
happen over time and can ruin your wheels. The high
spoke tension allows the use of fewer spokes. Our
rear hubs can accept the latest Shimano® and
Campagnolo® cassettes, allowing the use of your
favourite component group. We actually ask our wheel
builder what he thinks makes for a better wheel.
Scarcity:
There have been only
130 sets of these wheels built. We are working on
a new version of this wheel set so when they are
gone they are gone for good. Until December 30 we
will offer free with these wheels our Titanium Quick
Release Skewers, 85 grams, a $49 value and free ground
shipping in North America. Do not miss out on these
wheels. We do not
think there is a better value out there.
Enthusiasm:
We are excited that we
can offer you these 1500-gram wheels for less than
$500. If you are anything like us, you want a pair
of Ksyriums® but
just cannot afford them. This is our best current
attempt to give you great wheels at modest pricing.
Telling the Truth:
Here at Kult Bike we desire to
build bike products that provide the end consumer
with best balance of performance and value. Our simple
measure of success; Is this product Durable, Affordable
and Light? It has to work, I have to be able to buy
it and it needs to be light.
